For shooters running high-volume training drills, the Wolf PolyFormance 7.62x39mm soft point ammo delivers 1000 rounds of 125-grain bullets at 2410 fps muzzle velocity and 1613 ft-lbs of energy. Steel-cased with a proprietary PolyFormance coating, each round feeds and extracts reliably in AK-pattern rifles, SKS carbines, and bolt-action hunting rifles chambered for 7.62x39mm. Berdan-primed for consistent ignition, this case lot ships ready for the range.
Performance at a Glance
Wolf PolyFormance applies a polymer-based surface treatment to steel cases, reducing friction during the feed-extract cycle. The 125-grain soft point projectile uses a bi-metal jacket—copper-washed steel—over a lead core with an exposed tip that expands on impact. At 2410 fps from an AK-47 or CZ 527, you’ll see moderate expansion in ballistic gel and wood fiber, making this load suitable for varmint control and close-range hog hunting where legal, in addition to recreational plinking.

Steel cases are not reloadable—discard after firing. Because Berdan primers use a different flash-hole configuration than Boxer primers, deprime and resize tooling will not work with Wolf PolyFormance brass. Expect normal extraction marks on steel cases; these do not indicate overpressure. This ammunition fits all 7.62×39 ammo platforms chambered to CIP or SAAMI spec.
Safe Handling & Compliance
Federal law requires purchasers to be at least 18 years old for rifle and shotgun ammunition, and at least 21 for handgun ammunition. Ammunition cannot be shipped to certain states, counties, and cities — review our ammunition shipping restrictions before ordering. Store ammunition in a cool, dry location away from heat sources and out of reach of unauthorized users.
- Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
- Verify current federal, state, and local laws governing ammunition possession and use in your jurisdiction.
- Steel-cased ammunition may be prohibited at indoor ranges due to spark risk on steel backstops. Confirm range policy before shooting.
