Winchester USA Ready 45 ACP ammunition loads a 230-grain full metal jacket projectile to 880 feet per second with 395 foot-pounds of energy at the muzzle. This is a select-grade training round built for the sport shooter — you get match-grade components, repeatable velocities, and the reloadability of Boxer-primed brass cases. If you’re running drills, working accuracy fundamentals, or putting rounds downrange to stay sharp, this 500-round bulk pack (ten boxes of fifty) gives you the volume you need without burning through your monthly ammo budget. Winchester loads this ammunition in the United States, and every case leaves the factory with a non-corrosive Boxer primer seated in reloadable brass — you can run the brass through your progressive press after the range session and keep the training cycle alive.
Load Profile
The 230-grain full metal jacket projectile uses a flat-base design with a thin-wall copper jacket over a lead core. The aerodynamic profile stabilizes quickly out of standard 1:16 twist 45 ACP barrels, and the flat base ensures consistent contact with the rifling. At 880 fps, you’re running subsonic velocities — no transonic instability, no crack at the muzzle, just predictable point of impact across the entire 500-round training block. Muzzle energy clocks in at 395 foot-pounds, which is right at the historical 45 ACP sweet spot — enough authority for practical pistol drills, not so hot that you’re fighting muzzle flip on every transition.

This is new-production ammunition — factory-fresh brass, consistent crimps, no mixed headstamps to sort. You’ll find it runs clean through 1911 platforms, polymer-framed 45s, and carbine-length pistol-caliber carbines chambered in 45 ACP. The full metal jacket design feeds reliably through a variety of magazine geometries, and the subsonic velocity signature keeps your ear protection from taking a beating across extended training sessions. Safe Handling & Compliance
Federal law requires purchasers to be at least 18 years old for rifle and shotgun ammunition, and at least 21 for handgun ammunition. Ammunition cannot be shipped to certain states, counties, and cities — review our ammunition shipping restrictions before ordering. Store ammunition in a cool, dry location away from heat sources and out of reach of unauthorized users.
- Follow the four universal rules of firearms safety at all times — treat every firearm as if it is loaded, never point the muzzle at anything you are not willing to destroy, keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire, and be certain of your target and what lies beyond it.
- Verify current federal, state, and local laws governing ammunition purchase, possession, and transport in your jurisdiction before ordering — some municipalities impose additional restrictions on handgun ammunition sales or require permits for possession.
- This product contains lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm — wash hands thoroughly after handling ammunition and components, and ensure adequate ventilation during reloading operations.
