Remington Subsonic 9mm Luger ammunition delivers 147 grain flat nose projectiles at 945 feet per second — a velocity engineered to stay below the sound barrier and eliminate the supersonic crack that compromises suppressor effectiveness. Subsonic 9mm ammo is ammunition loaded to remain below approximately 1,125 fps at sea level, ensuring that the only audible report comes from the action cycling and gas venting, not from a projectile breaking the sound barrier. This load was developed through a collaboration between Remington and Advanced Armament Corp (AAC) to maximize suppressor performance while maintaining reliable feeding and function in 9mm Luger handguns.
Load Profile
The 147 grain flat nose bullet features an enclosed base to prevent lead fouling in suppressor baffles — a common issue with exposed-lead projectiles that can degrade suppressor performance and increase cleaning intervals. Muzzle energy is 291 foot-pounds. Brass cases are Boxer-primed, non-corrosive, and fully reloadable. Tight velocity control across the production lot ensures consistent point of impact and eliminates the risk of occasional supersonic rounds that would produce audible cracks downrange.

Safe Handling & Compliance
Federal law requires purchasers to be at least 18 years old for rifle and shotgun ammunition, and at least 21 for handgun ammunition. Ammunition cannot be shipped to certain states, counties, and cities — review our ammunition shipping restrictions before ordering. Store ammunition in a cool, dry location away from heat sources and out of reach of unauthorized users.
- Observe the four universal rules of firearms safety at all times — treat every firearm as loaded, never point at anything you do not intend to shoot, keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire, know your target and what lies beyond it.
- Verify current federal, state, and local laws regarding ammunition purchase, possession, and use in your jurisdiction before ordering.
- This product contains lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm (Prop 65). Wash hands thoroughly after handling ammunition or spent casings.
