The Remington Core-Lokt 260 Remington 140-grain pointed soft point represents decades of controlled-expansion engineering applied to a modern, efficient cartridge. The 260 Remington is a necked-down .308 Winchester case — delivering .264-caliber performance with moderate recoil and flat trajectory out to 300 yards. This load puts a 140-grain PSP downrange at 2750 feet per second, generating 2351 foot-pounds of muzzle energy. For whitetail, mule deer, antelope, and similarly sized game, the combination of sectional density and proven bullet construction makes this a dependable choice season after season.
Built for the Box
Remington’s Core-Lokt bullet locks a progressively tapered copper jacket to a solid lead core. As the bullet enters tissue, the jacket peels back in a controlled manner — the mechanical bond prevents core-jacket separation and maintains weight retention above 70 percent in most recovered samples. The pointed soft point profile improves ballistic coefficient over flat-nose designs, extending effective range while preserving terminal expansion at velocities down to 1800 fps. Brass cases carry boxer primers and non-corrosive propellant — components suitable for handloading after initial use.

The 260 Remington bridges the gap between smaller deer cartridges and heavier magnums — enough punch for clean kills on medium game without the recoil that degrades accuracy in field positions. Browse our complete selection of 260 Remington ammo for additional bullet weights and load profiles.
Safe Handling & Compliance
Federal law requires purchasers to be at least 18 years old for rifle and shotgun ammunition, and at least 21 for handgun ammunition. Ammunition cannot be shipped to certain states, counties, and cities — review our ammunition shipping restrictions before ordering. Store ammunition in a cool, dry location away from heat sources and out of reach of unauthorized users.
- Follow the four universal rules of firearms safety at all times — treat every firearm as if it is loaded, never point the muzzle at anything you are not willing to destroy, keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you have made the decision to shoot, and be certain of your target and what lies beyond it.
- Verify that the ammunition caliber matches the firearm’s chamber marking before loading — consult your owner’s manual for maximum average pressure (MAP) ratings and recommended bullet weights.
- This ammunition contains lead components. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Pregnant women and children should avoid exposure to lead dust and residue.
