The Nosler Trophy Grade 30-06 Springfield 180 grain Partition JSP is a hunting load engineered for controlled expansion and deep penetration on elk, moose, and bear-sized game. The 30-06 Springfield cartridge has served American hunters for over a century, and this Trophy Grade variant pairs it with Nosler’s dual-core Partition bullet — a design that maintains structural integrity through heavy bone while delivering consistent terminal performance across a wide velocity envelope. Nosler manufactures this ammunition in the United States using custom brass cases and hand-inspected quality controls.
Built for the Box
Nosler loads each Trophy Grade round to match performance, not just velocity targets. The 180 grain Partition bullet features a fully tapered jacket that ruptures at the thin front section on impact, initiating rapid expansion, while the internal partition wall separates the front and rear lead cores. The rear core — held in place by a special crimp — retains over half the bullet’s original 180 grains, driving penetration after the front section has transferred energy. At 2750 fps muzzle velocity, this load generates 3022 ft-lbs of energy and maintains supersonic flight beyond 600 yards. Brass cases accept Boxer primers for reloading.

The Partition’s dual-core construction addresses the classic bullet dilemma: expanding bullets fragment on heavy bone, while solids pencil through soft tissue. This load splits the difference. Find more proven hunting rounds in our 30-06 ammo selection.
