The Tavor TS12 bullpup shotgun redefines 12-gauge capacity and handling in confined spaces. Built by IWI on the Tavor platform, the TS12 employs three individual tube magazines — each holding four 3″ shells or five 2¾” shells — for a combined capacity of 15 rounds plus one in the chamber. A gas-regulated short-stroke piston system cycles both 2¾” and 3″ loads reliably, and the two-position gas regulator lets you tune for heavy or light ammunition. At 28.34″ overall length with an 18.5″ barrel, the TS12 is shorter than most pump-action shotguns yet delivers four times the onboard ammunition. The bullpup configuration places the action behind the trigger group, balancing weight over the shooter’s support hand and keeping muzzle rise predictable across rapid strings. Reinforced polymer stock, crossbolt safety, and compatibility with Beretta and Benelli choke tubes round out a design optimized for home defense, vehicle operations, and competitive three-gun stages where reload speed matters less than raw capacity.

Platform Overview

IWI adapted the Tavor rifle’s bullpup architecture for 12-gauge duty. The TS12’s three tube magazines rotate manually; you index to the next loaded tube by pulling the magazine assembly forward and rotating it 120 degrees. Each magazine is independent — you can load one tube with buckshot, another with slugs, and a third with birdshot, then select your load mid-string. The gas system’s two-position regulator adjusts for standard-velocity target loads or high-brass magnums; heavier loads run on the restricted setting, lighter loads on the open setting. The short-stroke gas piston operates a rotating bolt head, and the entire fire control group sits in front of the magazine assembly, accessible through a polymer lower. The grip angle and controls mirror the Tavor rifle, so muscle memory transfers if you run both platforms. Accepts Beretta Mobil and Benelli Crio choke tubes via a threaded muzzle. Crossbolt safety behind the trigger guard blocks the sear. No external magazine to lose or load under stress — your ammunition lives inside three fixed tubes you fill from a single loading port on the underside of each tube.

The TS12 sits in the shotguns category alongside traditional pump-action and semi-auto designs, but it occupies a unique niche: bullpup gas-operated with triple rotating magazines. Nine pounds unloaded, 28.34″ overall — shorter than a Remington 870 with an 18″ barrel — yet you carry 16 rounds before any reload. The two-position gas regulator ensures reliable function across the widest range of 12-gauge ammunition, from light 2¾” target loads to heavy 3″ magnum buckshot.

Real-World Use

Law enforcement agencies running vehicle-mounted shotguns favor the TS12 for its compact length and high capacity. Three-gun competitors use it in heavy-metal divisions where magazine changes cost seconds. Home defenders appreciate the bullpup’s maneuverability in hallways and the ability to stage different loads in each tube — buckshot for entry points, slugs for barriers, birdshot for training. The TS12 is not a field gun for upland birds; its weight and bulk make it unwieldy for wing-shooting. It excels in static or close-quarters scenarios where you need sustained firepower without reloading. The manual tube rotation requires deliberate indexing — you will not cycle tubes mid-shot string without conscious input — but that deliberation prevents accidental load changes. Run the TS12 with both eyes open, support hand on the forend, and let the bullpup balance do the work.

Care & Maintenance

The gas system requires periodic cleaning to maintain reliable cycling. After 200-300 rounds, disassemble the gas piston assembly and scrub carbon buildup from the piston head and cylinder. The gas regulator’s two positions are marked on the block — rotate the regulator collar to match your ammunition. For heavy loads (3″ magnums, high-brass buckshot), set to the restricted position; for light target loads, open the gas port fully. Tube magazines load from ports on the underside of each tube — orient shells brass-forward and push until the follower clicks. Do not force shells; if a tube binds, verify you are within capacity (four 3″ or five 2¾”). The crossbolt safety blocks the trigger; verify safe direction and clear chamber before rotating tubes. IWI specifies a light coat of CLP on the bolt carrier and piston rod after each range session. The reinforced polymer stock resists cracking under recoil, but inspect for stress fractures around the pistol grip and recoil pad after extended use. Store in a cool, dry location with tubes empty to preserve magazine spring tension.

Safe Handling & Compliance

All firearms sold by Tatted Tacticals require transfer through a licensed Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL07) dealer. We ship to your designated FFL, where you complete ATF Form 4473 and a NICS background check before taking possession. Some states require additional state-level background checks, permits, or waiting periods — verify current requirements in your jurisdiction before ordering.

  • Treat every firearm as if it is loaded. Keep muzzle pointed in a safe direction. Keep finger off trigger until ready to fire. Be certain of target and what lies beyond it.
  • Verify state and local laws regarding shotgun barrel length, overall length, and magazine capacity before ordering. Bullpup shotguns may be subject to additional restrictions in certain jurisdictions.
  • The TS12’s three-tube magazine system requires manual rotation to index to the next loaded tube. Verify which tube is active before each shot string to prevent firing an unintended load type.
