The Geissele Hi-Speed National Match Trigger Set is an adjustable, multi-configuration trigger designed for AR-15 and AR-10 platforms where you need precision on demand. Whether you’re running NRA High Power Service Rifle, building a DMR for duty, or tuning a match Space Gun, this set puts first stage weight, second stage break, over-travel, and sear engagement under your control. Three distinct spring sets—Service Rifle, Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR), and Match Rifle—ship in the box, each optimized for a different mission profile.
The Mechanism
Geissele machines each trigger and hammer from tool steel, then heat-treats and wire-EDMs the sear surfaces to hold geometry under thousands of break cycles. The full-power hammer spring delivers reliable primer ignition across experimental loads, harder military primers, and AR-10 platforms where bolt mass demands higher striker energy. You swap spring sets without removing the trigger group: Service Rifle springs push most pull weight to the first stage (minimum 4.5 lbs total for NRA compliance), leaving a crisp second stage; DMR springs shift weight to the second stage for controlled breaks under stress; Match Rifle springs drop pull weight to the floor and shorten lock time for benchrest-grade accuracy. Adjustment screws on the trigger bow let you set over-travel in 0.001″ increments, and sear engagement screws dial creep in or out without gunsmithing.

Who It’s For
This trigger set fits competitive shooters running NRA High Power Service Rifle or across-the-course matches where minimum pull weights are regulated. Tactical shooters building DMRs or patrol carbines use the DMR spring set to keep second-stage weight high enough for positive control under adrenaline. Precision marksmen tuning AR-15 Space Guns or long-range AR-10s drop in the Match Rifle springs and dial pull weight to the minimum their skills can safely handle. If you reload experimental cartridges, run military-surplus primers, or shoot suppressed AR-10s where bolt bounce can cause light strikes, the full-power hammer spring ensures ignition every time.
Installation Notes
Install the trigger group into a mil-spec lower using the included slave pin to preassemble hammer, trigger, disconnector, and springs outside the receiver. Drive the slave pin out with your trigger pin, then install the hammer pin. Select your spring set: Service Rifle for compliance with match rules, DMR for duty/defense, Match Rifle for benchrest accuracy. After installation, dry-fire the rifle (with the upper removed and no magazine inserted) to verify reset, then use the adjustment screws to set over-travel and sear engagement. Geissele recommends starting with factory settings and making micro-adjustments only after you’ve broken in the trigger over 100-200 rounds. Do not over-tighten adjustment screws—snug until you feel resistance, then back off 1/8 turn. If you swap spring sets, re-check adjustment before live fire.
Safe Handling & Compliance
Per current ATF guidance, adjustable triggers remain classified as semi-automatic trigger assemblies — each round fired requires a discrete trigger function, and the device does not convert a firearm to automatic fire. Regulatory status has changed before and may change again; verify current federal and state law before ordering.
- Observe the four rules of firearm safety: treat every firearm as loaded, never point at anything you’re not willing to destroy, keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire, know your target and what’s beyond it. Review them at NSSF.
- Some states restrict drop-in trigger assemblies or require minimum pull weights for hunting or competition. Verify state and local laws in your jurisdiction before installation. Certain municipalities prohibit adjustable triggers on duty firearms; consult your department armorer.
- After installing or adjusting the Hi-Speed National Match Trigger Set, function-check the rifle with the upper removed: verify the hammer cocks, trigger breaks cleanly, disconnector catches the hammer on cycling, and reset is positive. Do not use the rifle until you’ve confirmed safe operation.
