The Geissele REBCG (Reliability Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group) delivers full-auto performance in your AR-15 through forged Carpenter 158+ steel and a proprietary Nanoweapon coating process developed in partnership with Picatinny Arsenal. Built for .223/5.56 NATO and .300 BLK platforms, this M16-profile carrier extends service intervals and resists carbon fouling at levels commercial coatings cannot match.
How It Works
Geissele machines the carrier body from 8620 steel, then integrates extended upper rails that stabilize cartridge feeding under rapid fire. The chrome-lined gas key arrives properly torqued and staked. Each cam pin — cut from H13 medical-grade steel — rotates inside the carrier with minimal friction, reducing wear on both components. The forging process for the bolt manipulates grain structure the same way upper and lower receivers are formed, yielding a component Geissele claims delivers five times the longevity of standard mil-spec bolts.

Nanoweapon coating reaches a surface hardness equivalent to 82 HRC — harder than sand particles encountered in dusty environments — which allows carbon deposits to wipe away with minimal scrubbing. The low-temperature application preserves the underlying metallurgy of the 8620 carrier body and Carpenter 158+ bolt. You can find additional AR-15 components in our bolt carrier group category.
Safe Handling & Compliance
Installing a new bolt carrier group alters the cycling dynamics of your AR-15. Test-fire with factory-specification ammunition in a controlled environment before relying on the rifle for defensive or duty use. Some jurisdictions restrict full-auto-profile carriers in semi-automatic rifles — verify local regulations before ordering.
- Observe the four rules of firearm safety during installation and function checks.
- Consult current federal, state, and local laws governing firearm modifications.
- Confirm headspace with a qualified armorer or gunsmith after installing a new bolt.
