Machined from 8620H steel — a case-hardening alloy with a harder core than standard 8620 — the carrier undergoes OD grinding in a pre-hardened state before final machining, ensuring dimensional stability after coating. A long-duration salt bath nitride finish provides corrosion resistance and reduced friction across the carrier, bolt, and gas key. The M16 profile carrier delivers full-auto-rated mass for piston-driven or blowback .45 ACP uppers.

The FM45-BCG carrier face is ramped to accommodate both MIL-SPEC and 9mm hammers, a necessity in pistol-caliber AR builds where hammer geometry varies by lower receiver and fire-control group. The forged extractor and premium 17-4 stainless steel firing pin are dimensioned for .45 ACP rim engagement and primer strike energy.
