The Fiocchi Extrema 222 Remington 50 grain Hornady V-Max delivers a flat-shooting varmint load for bolt guns and single-shots chambered in the classic .222 Remington cartridge. Fiocchi loads this round with a Hornady V-Max polymer-tip projectile — a design that combines high ballistic coefficient with rapid expansion on impact — and backs it with a full-power charge that pushes the 50 grain bullet to 3200 feet per second at the muzzle. At that velocity, the load carries 1205 foot-pounds of energy and a BC of 0.242, giving you a flat trajectory to 200 yards and minimal wind drift in prairie dog and ground squirrel country. Fiocchi manufactures this ammunition in Italy under ISO 9001 quality management, using boxer-primed brass cases that seat and extract cleanly in tight-chambered varmint rifles.
Built for the Box
Fiocchi seats the Hornady V-Max bullet to SAAMI overall length and uses a powder charge that runs within SAAMI maximum average pressure limits. The polymer tip initiates expansion at impact velocities above 1800 fps, and the secant-ogive profile maintains stability through transonic flight. The brass case accepts standard large rifle primers and reloads without difficulty — though 222 Remington ammunition headspaces on the shoulder, so resize dies must be adjusted to avoid over-sizing. Fiocchi inspects each loaded round for dimensional consistency before packing twenty rounds per box, forty boxes per case.

Safe Handling & Compliance
Federal law requires purchasers to be at least 18 years old for rifle and shotgun ammunition, and at least 21 for handgun ammunition. Ammunition cannot be shipped to certain states, counties, and cities — review our ammunition shipping restrictions before ordering. Store ammunition in a cool, dry location away from heat sources and out of reach of unauthorized users.
- Follow the four rules of firearms safety at all times — treat every firearm as if it is loaded, never point the muzzle at anything you are not willing to destroy, keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire, and know your target and what lies beyond it.
- Verify that your rifle is chambered for .222 Remington before loading — do not attempt to fire .222 Remington ammunition in rifles chambered for .223 Remington, .222 Remington Magnum, or any other cartridge.
- This ammunition contains lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling and dispose of brass cases in accordance with local regulations.
