The Fiocchi 3-Gun 12 gauge rifled slug is competition ammunition developed in partnership with shooter Jerry Miculek for 3-Gun match environments where speed and reliability outweigh maximum downrange energy. Loaded with a 7/8 ounce rifled slug in a 2-3/4″ hull, this round leaves the muzzle at 1300 fps from smooth bore barrels. The defining feature is a firm radiused crimp that seats consistently in quad-loading sequences and gravity feeds without catching on chamber lips — a design priority when your shotgun is transitioning between slug and buckshot stages under the timer.
Load Profile
Fiocchi uses Boxer-primed hulls with a roll crimp and non-corrosive components. The 7/8 ounce slug weight sits below the 1-ounce standard, reducing shoulder impulse during rapid strings while maintaining minute-of-plate accuracy at competition distances. Reloadable hulls let you reclaim brass after range day, though most competitors running volume drills treat these as consumables.

This load runs in any 12 gauge chamber rated for 2-3/4″ shells — competition shotguns, field pumps, tactical semi-autos. The radiused crimp profiles allow you to palm-load four rounds without fumbling, then dump them into the magazine tube or chamber without hang-ups.
