The Federal Power-Shok 20 gauge hollow point rifled slug is a big game load designed for smooth bore shotguns hunting whitetail, hog, and bear at woods ranges. A 20 gauge rifled slug delivers centerfire-class energy in a lighter-recoiling package than 12 gauge, and this 3/4-ounce hollow point slug launches at 1600 feet per second for 1865 foot-pounds of muzzle energy. Federal uses the TruBall slug design — a plastic ball bearing sits in the hollow point cavity and centers the slug in the barrel during ignition, improving shot alignment and downrange accuracy in smooth bore barrels. The slug works equally well in rifled choke tubes or fully rifled barrels.
Built for the Box
Federal Power-Shok shotshell ammunition uses a 2-3/4-inch hull with a roll crimp and Boxer primer. The hollow point rifled slug expands on impact for energy transfer in soft tissue. The round is designed for smooth bore barrels without a rifled choke but functions in rifled choke tube setups or fully rifled slug barrels. The TruBall bearing prevents the slug from deforming during barrel travel and provides repeatable accuracy at 50 to 75 yards. Each box contains five rounds. Reloadable hulls allow handloaders to reuse the brass-base cases.

Safe Handling & Compliance
Federal law requires purchasers to be at least 18 years old for rifle and shotgun ammunition, and at least 21 for handgun ammunition. Ammunition cannot be shipped to certain states, counties, and cities — review our ammunition shipping restrictions before ordering. Store ammunition in a cool, dry location away from heat sources and out of reach of unauthorized users.
- Follow the four rules of firearm safety — treat every firearm as loaded, never point at anything you are not willing to destroy, keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire, and know your target and what is beyond it.
- Verify current state and local laws regarding slug ammunition possession, use, and transportation — some jurisdictions restrict lead projectiles or require non-toxic alternatives in certain hunting zones.
- This product contains lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands thoroughly after handling ammunition. Avoid ingestion or inhalation of residues.
