For turkey hunters running a 20 gauge, the Apex Ammunition TSS Smalltown Hunting Blend answers the pattern-density question without forcing you into a 12 gauge platform. This 20 gauge turkey TSS load combines #7-1/2 and #9 tungsten alloy shot in a 3-inch hull, stacking the heavier pellets on top of the finer shot to deliver both knockdown mass and pattern fill. At 1-5/8 ounces and 1175 fps, you carry 492 tungsten pellets downrange — enough to anchor a gobbler inside 40 yards and extend your effective range when the bird hangs up at 45.

Apex builds each shell by hand and subjects every round to human-eye inspection before boxing. The duplex stack places the 7.5s forward, so the first pellets through the choke carry more sectional density for deeper penetration, while the 9s fill the gaps behind them. The result: tighter core patterns at close range and maintained lethality when the bird steps back. More turkey loads in this category at 20 Gauge Turkey Loads.
