The M4E1 Stripped Lower Receiver bridges the gap between forged reliability and billet aesthetics. Machined from 7075-T6 forged aluminum, this lower receiver integrates features that simplify the build process and eliminate common installation headaches. The integrated trigger guard removes the weak point of traditional tab-style guards, while the threaded bolt catch roll pin allows for tool-driven installation with a 1/16″ hex key — no more hammering roll pins and marring your finish. For builders assembling their first AR15 or experienced operators adding another platform to the safe, this lower offers mil-spec compatibility with enhanced functionality.
Out of the Box
This custom-designed forging departs from standard GI-pattern lowers in deliberate ways. The integrated trigger guard is milled as part of the lower body, creating a rigid one-piece platform that cannot break at the mounting tabs. The rear takedown pin detent hole is threaded for a 4-40 set screw, letting you install the detent and spring with a screwdriver instead of wrestling with a punch and hoping the spring doesn’t launch across your workspace. The upper tension screw — a nylon-tipped set screw recessed in the grip tang — allows you to dial in a tight fit between upper and lower, eliminating wobble without shimming or tape. The magwell is flared beyond mil-spec dimensions to aid magazine changes under stress or while wearing gloves.

This lower is marked and milled to accept short-throw safety selectors, though it works with standard mil-spec selectors as well. Who It’s For
First-time builders gain simplified installation steps — no roll pin drama, no lost detents, no trigger guard breakage. Experienced armorers appreciate the upper tension screw for dialing in tight tolerances across mixed-manufacturer uppers. Competition shooters value the flared magwell for speed reloads. This lower suits any application where you want forged strength with features that save time at the bench and headaches down the road.
Safe Handling & Compliance
All firearms sold by Tatted Tacticals require transfer through a licensed Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL07) dealer. We ship to your designated FFL, where you complete ATF Form 4473 and a NICS background check before taking possession. Some states require additional state-level background checks, permits, or waiting periods — verify current requirements in your jurisdiction before ordering.
- Follow the four universal rules of firearm safety at all times during assembly and function checking.
- Verify state and local laws regarding AR15 lower receivers, as some jurisdictions impose additional restrictions or registration requirements.
- Use only mil-spec parts and follow torque specifications during assembly. Over-tightening the buffer tube castle nut or grip screw can crack the lower.
