For handloaders building precision 7.62×39 loads — whether for AK platforms, SKS rifles, or bolt-action builds — 7.62×39 brass starts with consistent case geometry. This new, unprimed brass is manufactured in the United States with attention to wall concentricity and internal volume tolerance, two factors that directly affect powder charge uniformity and chamber fit. Each case arrives tumble-polished and ready for prep work: neck chamfering, deburring, and a first sizing pass before priming.
Performance Profile
The 7.62x39mm cartridge headspaces on the case shoulder, so uniform shoulder angle and neck tension matter. These brass cases are measured for consistent wall thickness and tested for pressure calibration during manufacturing, which ensures uniform expansion under firing loads. Because the brass is new — not range pickup — you control the first firing and all subsequent load development from a known baseline. Minor cosmetic dents below the shoulder or slight case mouth irregularity may occur during final tumbling; these are removed in the first firing and do not affect case life or accuracy.

Brass Preparation Notes
Before loading, run each case partway into your sizing die to straighten the case mouth, then chamfer and deburr inside and out. Lubricate the case neck before running the expander ball through to prevent neck stretching. You may notice residual annealing stain (a pinkish tint) on the neck — this is cosmetic and does not affect performance. On smaller-caliber brass, slight mouth belling is normal; adjust with your seating die as needed.
Safe Handling & Compliance
Reloading metallic cartridges involves gunpowder, primers, and high-pressure equipment. Always consult current load data from reputable sources before assembling ammunition. Never exceed published maximum loads, and verify each charge weight on a calibrated scale. Store components in a cool, dry location away from heat sources and out of reach of unauthorized users.
- Follow published load data exactly — do not extrapolate or substitute powders without re-verification.
- Verify compliance with state and local laws governing ammunition storage and transport.
